Oral history interview with Guy E. Connolly [sound recording] : 2005 July 07.

Guy E. Connolly reminisces about his career as a wildlife research biologist working for the the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Range Surveys, the University of California at Davis-Hopland Field Station and for the USDA's, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Wildlife Services, Denver Wildlife Research Center (DWRC). He discusses his work in wildlife and range management and depredation (predator damage) control research including the different methods used such as trapping, M-44, and livestock protection collars. Connolly talks about interactions and attitudes between research and operations personnel and served as the staff liaison. He discusses the future of trapping and wildlife research and management.

Connolly was born Oct. 15, 1938 in St. Paul, Minn. After obtaining his BS in Forest Conservation from the University of Montana, Missoula in 1961, Connolly briefly worked as a wildlife management biologist for the USFWS Range Surveys in Eastern Oregon (1961-1962). Connolly worked for the University of California, Davis, Hopland Field Station from 1962-1975, during which time he obtained his MA in Biology at California State University in Rohnert Park, Calif.
